More About Bugonia
As we mentioned, we’re very excited about Bugonia and even more eager to watch an advanced screening of it with all of you. Yorgos Lanthimos is a director who ALWAYS has a point of view, a strong aesthetic, and a dark, witty bent to his creations.
The synopsis for Bugonia reveals, “Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.” Is Emma Stone’s Girl Boss really an alien? Or are Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis simply just one tin hat too far off their rocker? It’s a question that will no doubt leave us on the edge of our seats.
All we have to say is that if we were an alien species intent on destroying planet Earth, doing it from the CEO seat would probably be a very clever idea. Regardless of whether Stone is or isn’t an alien in Bugonia, we feel some incisive commentary about the state of our world, delivered in a witty and stylish way is just around the corner.
