Xbox Fullscreen Experience now available on ‘all’ Windows handhelds  | amznusa.com

The Xbox Fullscreen Experience is what makes the Asus ROG Xbox Ally, well, an Xbox—at least according to the marketing. But now the handheld’s signature feature is available for the competition. After launching in preview on the MSI Claw and getting enabled by tweaking some early Insider builds, Microsoft says it’s available on all Windows 11 handhelds starting today, November 21st.

We were expecting this wider rollout some time in early 2026, especially since the Xbox Ally is such a big partnership between Microsoft and Asus. The announcement came via Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Preview, which showed a series of new games coming to the Xbox console and PC platforms later this year and into 2026. “We also announced that full screen experience—originally available on the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X—is generally available tomorrow (November 21) across all gaming handhelds currently in market.”

The announcement says that the FSE (not XFE, for reasons that still elude me) will be coming to “more Windows 11 PC form factors” via the Insiders program. Based on the promotional image, that seems to indicate that laptops and desktops will be able to launch the fullscreen game browsing and social interface as well. With an expansion to larger screens, that’d give the Xbox/PC platform something roughly similar to Steam’s Big Picture Mode.

I don’t have a handheld to test this out on since I’ve loaded up Valve’s SteamOS beta on my Lenovo Legion Go. But you can reportedly turn on the FSE by going to the main Windows 11 Settings menu, then selecting Gaming and Full Screen Experience. It seems possible that with the wide variety of handhelds now running Windows 11, some of them might have some support issues as the feature launches.
