In poker, to achieve a Full House, you need two of a kind, a pair of cards that are almost the same but slightly different. Fallout season two, it turns out, wanted us to have the opportunity to get a Full House, because it provided us with exactly that: two Mr. Houses that were almost identical but meaningfully different. At Nerdist, we were lucky enough to draw that Full House as Fallout season two came to a close. As we looked back on the incredible second season of the video game series, we sat down with Fallout season two’s two Mr. House actors: Justin Theroux, the real Robert House, and Rafi Silver, Mr. House’s fake double, known to fandom as Bobby Apartment. Together, these characters are wrapped up in one of Fallout‘s most riveting twists, Robert House’s lie to the world about his true identity. And it’s a twist with an impact that we still don’t fully understand the extent of on Fallout. But thanks to our interviews with Theroux and Silver, we feel like we understand Robert House and his fake double, Bobby Apartment, much more deeply. You can check out links to our Fallout Mr. House interviews below.

When it came to sitting down with Justin Theroux to discuss the real Mr. Robert House, we had many questions about the internalities of the truly strange, sometimes terrible, but somehow lovable character. We spoke to Theroux about Mr. House’s morality, his empathy, his emotions, and his capacity for friendship. Although, in many ways, Justin Theroux seemed to feel that Robert House was quite removed from his humanity on Fallout, he left some doors open for interesting ways the character might evolve. And after our conversation, we are more fascinated by the character than ever and can’t wait to see him return in Fallout season three.

Meanwhile, Rafi Silver shed some fascinating light on Bobby Apartment, the other face on the coin of Mr. House’s lie. With Silver, we delved into the tragedy of Robert House and Bobby Apartment, and the way their co-conspiracy leaves both of them unable to be truly seen by those around them, robbing them of some part of their humanity. Silver also shared his thoughts about the background of the fake double, what might have led him to become Robert House’s fake double on Fallout, and Bobby Apartment’s true allegiance (or lack thereof) to Robert House. It was another truly fascinating character-driven conversation.
It’s a Full House!
And there you have it, our Full House. We feel like we won this round. But we’ll have to wait and see what Fallout has in store for us, Robert House, and the fake Mr. House, Bobby Apartment.
Fallout season two is now streaming on Prime Video.
