On a scale of geography novice to Ken Jennings, how much do you know about the countries of the world? Either way, Country Wheel offers a fun way to explore them, one random spin at a time.

Open the site, click Spin, and see which of 197 countries comes up. You can spin through the whole world or filter for Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, or Oceania. The regional filters are especially useful if you’re about to travel to an area and want to learn more about that particular part of the globe.

Once the wheel lands on a country, the site shows you a quick overview. You’ll find its flag, capital, population, language, currency, local time, and current weather. It also includes a must-try national dish, some useful phrases, and a few interesting facts—did you know Nokia originated in Finland? It’s an approachable way to learn without overwhelming you.

The randomness can make it really fun, too. One spin might take you to a country you know well, while the next introduces you to a place you’ve barely heard of. And if a dish, phrase, or fact grabs your attention, you have a good starting point for learning more.
