“Like it or not, Winter is coming…” That’s a popular Game of Thrones saying. Another one is, “What’s dead may never die.” And that’s a bit how the wildly beloved franchise feels. Game of Thrones‘ original incarnation may never truly die. And now, it’s back in a whole new way, a Game of Thrones mobile game from Netmarble coming in 2025. The trailer for new game features many familiar faces, including Jon Snow, Jamie Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Lord Varys, and more. There are even, yes, dragons. This hints that we might see a little bit of Khaleesi, aka Daenerys Targaryen herself, in the game as well. It’s hard to say how much they’ll come into play in the actual Game of Thrones mobile game, titled Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. But we sure do like to see them.

In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, you will embark on a journey to restore your house’s legacy, forging alliances through trials and betrayals while navigating a realm rife with intrigue, danger, and opportunity. The game’s original storyline expands on that of the legendary TV series, allowing you to forge your own path amidst the power struggles of noble houses and the looming threat of what lies beyond the Wall.
As you carve your path through Westeros, you’ll engage in dynamic, skill-driven manual combat that places you at the heart of every battle. Forge your destiny as a sellsword bred for battle, a knight sworn to duty, or an assassin shrouded in shadow. Each class offers a distinct playstyle inspired by the archetypes seen in Game of Thrones.
Additionally, the official website for the Game of Thrones mobile game reveals that you’ll play as an illegitimate child of House Tyre, “a minor house from a modest keep in the remote reaches of the North.” As one of the few people who know the truth about the threat the White Walkers pose, it’s your job to get the rest of the noble houses of Westeros on board with the fight. And yes, this immersive mobile game is officially licensed from HBO, allowing you the chance to “uncover untold stories and encounter familiar faces” from the series.
The Game of Thrones: Kingsroad mobile game will release for iOS and Android in 2025. No word yet on it releasing for any other kinds of platforms. You can subscribe now to stay tuned for new updates. And bundle up because, as you know… it’s about to get pretty cold.
