Following months of leaks, speculation, and questions, the Pixel 11 series went official this week and is already up for pre-order. But have you seen enough to even attempt to go down that dealmaking road and buy one? Did Google bring enough upgrades to the Pixel 11 series? Is the new starting price of the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro turning you away? Is the downgrade to 12GB RAM in lower Pro models, with no price decrease, pissing you off as much as it is me?
There’s more here to consider than I initially thought there would be. Typically, when Google brings out a new phone, it’s so easy to just go for it. With the Pixel 11, I’m finding some hesitation for the first time.
The upgrades, if there are many, seem minor and the pitch is once again around AI doing things for you, maybe even proactively. We did get camera upgrades that we can’t wait to fully test and share with you (we are deep in testing already), the phones are more durable than ever, and the new colors are pretty. But what else are we supposed to get excited about?
