You need to back up your files. This $170 14TB external hard drive is perfect for that job
All right, it’s time for me to sign off for the day, but I have one last one for you all—a big ol’ storage drive. Why? Backing up your system is critical. Having just one copy of a file—even if it’s synced to a cloud account with Microsoft, Google, or Apple—is not enough to cover your butt if your devices become lost, stolen, or disabled.
For most people, one of the easiest ways to back up is to a separate local drive (especially if you automate the backup process with software), which is where this $170 Western Digital external desktop hard drive comes in. With 14TB of storage, you have plenty of room for all your files, including big video clips, and even multiple iterations of your backups.
Trust me, you don’t want to deal with the anguish of trying to recover files from a dead drive. It sucks.

These $66 Anker soundcore Space One headphones are a super affordable alternative to Bose
Reviews from users and critics alike give high marks to the Space One—in part due to its strong noise canceling, long battery life, comfortable fit, and surprisingly luxe look. You can find headphones that have finer audio tuning and/or even better noise canceling, but you’ll also pay easily 3x as much.
The only reason I personally lean toward choosing a $200 pair of Bose over these? Weight. They’re about an ounce lighter, which matters for how I evaluate fit for myself. But for most people, the extra ounce is well worth the cost savings.

This $23 desk accessory lets you use mount arms on fragile desks
Use a glass table for your desk? Or perhaps you have an Ikea special, which is more honeycombed cardboard than substance? (No shade, I have a table like that.) You can actually still use a monitor arm, microphone arm, camera arm, or other mounted poles for your desktop without destroying it.
You just have to add a pair of metal reinforcement plates to your tabletop first, then slide the arm clamp over that. Like this $23 Wali version, on slight discount for Prime Day. (Used to be cheaper months ago, but I haven’t seen the price budge in a long while.) It spreads the force over a wider area, reducing the risk of damage (or Ikea-made collapse). Easy.
This $29 gas monitor arm will give you back so much desk space [Limited Time Deal!]
I have a single, consistent answer when asked for desk upgrade recommendations: a monitor arm. And not just any type, but a gas monitor arm—adjustments to height or tilt are so much smoother.
Right now during Prime Day, a coupon shaves down the cost of a popular Huanuo model even further, bringing it down to just $29. (I paid a heck of a lot more for mine.) This one supports 13- to 32-inch monitors, both VESA 100×100 and 75×75 size mount brackets, and up to 19.8 lbs in weight. I like this model better than a cheaper Huanuo alternative, which has less tilt range. It also has a nicer clamp.
You can reclaim an absurd amount of space back from your desk by putting it on an arm—it’s what keeps my desk from turning into a hellscape where I don’t even have room to sign paperwork or dash off a quick note. No need for a bigger table.

You can buy a cheap microphone arm. But the $70 Elgato Wave is so much better
I had a cheap $16 microphone arm. It worked. But it also caused my fellow crew members on The Full Nerd to wince every time I adjusted it (apparently, despite it being pretty well-greased, the springs were that loud).
Nowadays, I use this Elgato Wave Mic arm instead. Currently $70 for Prime Day, I got it around this same all-time low price, and I have to admit—it is much nicer. The joints are smoother, the desk mount clamp sturdier (and gentler on the desktop), and cable management superior. Heavier mics work fine, too. (El Cheapo Arm sometimes required a little bit of prayer and coaxing.) My colleague Adam Patrick Murray prefers the low Wave arm (also $70 right now), but this version works better for getting it out of my way.
Oh wait, Fractal Design’s Terra and Pop Air RGB PC cases are also on sale, too!
I can’t believe I missed this earlier today (I think I got so tickled by the Fractal North being so low in price). Fractal Design’s Terra mini-ITX case is down to $150 right now, and the Pop Air RGB Magenta Core (which pairs a striking magenta interior with a black exterior) is $75.
Our video team loves that Terra (the jade color is elegant as heck), but I’m a sucker for this particular version of the Pop Air. I don’t see color combos like this often; it includes 3 RGB fans; and most importantly, I don’t see many compact ATX cases with external drive bays still. (Much less so cleanly hidden.) Hold my Blu-Ray burner drive, please.

Fiiiinallly, a decent PSU deal—this 850W Thermaltake GF1 is $80 right now
Shoutout to the fine folks at r/buildapcsales, who spotted this deal: $80 for a Thermaltake GF1, which is a Gold-rated, fully modular 850W power supply with a 10-year warranty. And it’s the 2024 model, which is still thought to be still on the better side of power supplies, according to the all mighty SPL tier list.
But there is one caveat: As an ATX 2.0 power supply, it doesn’t come with the 12VHPWR cables you’d need for some ATX 3.0/3.1 graphics cards. Figuring out adapters can be a slight headache (especially if you’re particularly concerned about melting issues), but this can be a good deal if you have a GPU that still works directly with older power supplies or don’t mind that mental overhead.

This $6 box with compartments is my favorite way to organize cables
I grew up with a mom who did crafts and a dad who went fishing. For organization, I think the crafters do it better. (Ruggedness, I’ll give to the anglers.)
So as part of coralling my cable collection, I use bead boxes, like this $12 two-pack with adjustable compartments. They’re more unobtrusive, often stack cleaner, and I like how I can customize the compartment sizes. They’re also great for storing the various screws and other bits (zip ties, velcro ties, rubber fan mounts, etc) for PC building.
Don’t get me wrong, a tackle box can work too. But sometimes I don’t need that much ruggedness in my living room. And I can still store sinkers and lures in a bead box, too. If I wanted.
By the way…watch out for Prime Day scams this week
Scams keep rising in intensity and number, thanks to the “help” of AI chatbots and other AI-based tools. So be on particular lookout this month for Prime Day and other shopping-related scams—for example, ones that try to trick you by claiming problems with your Prime membership, package delivery, or order confirmations.
I give a full rundown on what to watch out for and how to avoid getting tripped up in the guide linked above. It’s not just shopping, either. Booking travel has its dangers, too.

I paid $9 for this USB-C cable to make sure my laptop never charges slowly
I own a bunch of older USB-C cables. If I pair them with a GaN charger for my laptop, sometimes it charges slower, because those older cables are rated for lower wattages than what my laptop can handle as its max.
So now with 100W and 240W cables being much more common, Prime Day’s a good time to grab at least a new cable or two for cheap. I picked up this $9 UGREEN USB-C cable, which is rated for 240W and is more than I actually need. (My laptop isn’t beefy, but the 100W cables are about the same price, so…) Now I can go back to not thinking about which cable I should use.
Ditch your laptop power brick with a tiny $24 GaN charger
I’m old enough to remember the utter pain of losing a laptop charger. Fortunately, I can now consolidate my phone, tablet, and laptop chargers to a single unit, thanks to GaN chargers. Despite being small, they can pump a lot of wattage to your devices—and for most people with thin, portable laptops, a 65W charger like this $24 UGREEN model is plenty of juice. I like that it has three USB-C ports but also still a USB-A, too.
Looking for a more compact alternative, or one that provides more wattage? You can instead opt for one of these two Anker chargers: the 67W Anker Prime for $35 or the 100W Anker Prime for $46.
Razer makes great gaming mice, sure. But did you know their Hello Kitty lumbar pillow is at its lowest price right now?
Yes, Razer has a bunch of sales today on its gear, including my boss Brad Chacos’s favorite gaming mouse, the DeathAdder. But those sales aren’t the cheapest we’ve seen—nor do they have the pop culture appeal of this $40 Hello Kitty lumbar cushion, a product born of Razer’s collab with Sanrio.
You could have a beard (Brad does). You could normally not like pink (hi, it’s me). Doesn’t matter. Everyone has reason to like a Hello Kitty pillow, and it’s way more affordable than Razer’s butt-rumbling haptic seat cushion. (Which, by the way, actually feels really nice to sit on; I still miss my review unit.)
(Also yes, hi, hello, I alone am running this liveblog now. But for the record, Brad’s spirit lives in this post. He’s the same guy who encouraged me to buy an anniversary Hello Kitty boombox when I was vacationing in Japan.)

The best Prime Day video doorbell deal? Blink and you’ll miss it
Amazon’s Blink home security brand is serving up a Prime Day discount you don’t want to miss. For just $30—a whopping 57% off—you can grab Blink’s latest video doorbell, which boasts head-to-toe HD video, infrared night vision, and two-way audio.
The bundled Sync Module Core acts as a wireless bridge for the doorbell and supports a total of 10 Blink devices, while module’s power optimizations allow the doorbell to run for up to two years on a pair of AA batteries (included). You can also get person detection and 60 days of cloud video storage starting at $3 a month.

These geeky board games deliver hours of fun (and they’re dirt cheap on Prime Day).
It’s time for Alaina to take over the blog, but here’s a geeky tip on my way out: Prime Day has some amazing deals on geeky board games, though they’re more rare than we’ve seen in the past. Board games haven’t been discounted much lately because of U.S. tariff issues so seeing some classics blown-out during Prime Day is welcome indeed. If you’re looking to get started, check out train mogul simulator Ticket to Ride ($25, 50% off), the hilarious monster-smashing antics of King of Tokyo ($27.99, 30% off after clicking coupon box), and the adorable extinction-fueled fun of Happy Little Dinosaurs ($14.99, 25% off).
I’ve played all three with groups of mixed ages and all of them are a blast — these are very personal recommendations I spotted while sifting through Amazon’s board game listings.

That’s it for me. Thanks for hanging out today everyone! Alaina, you have the helm.
Future-proof your home with this $26 five-pack of Cat8 Ethernet cables
Ethernet cables are not all the same. You might be using old ones limiting your internet speeds—as my colleague Mark Hachman recently discovered. He ultimately upgraded his cabling from an outdated Cat5 spec to the latest Cat8 spec. His maximum bandwidth got a 400x boost.
If you’re in the same boat, you can upgrade pretty cheaply right now. The same five-pack that he used in his house is just $26 for Prime Day. A nice touch about them is that they’re color coded, so if you have multiple cables plugged into a switch, it’s easy to tell which device is which.

This powered USB hub has all the ports (and power delivery to charge your phone)
I want all the USB ports and this powered 11-in-1 hub gives me ALLLLLLLLLLLLL THE USB PORTS* for just $40

*3x USB 3.2 ports (up to 10Gbps), 7x USB 3.0 ports (up to 5Gbps), 1x USB-C 20W Power Delivery charging port.
My dentist yelled at me to switch to an electric toothbrush. This Philips Sonicare deal is finally going to make it happen
I am weirdly analog about some things, and my toothbrush is one of them. Do I know that an electric toothbrush is superior? Yes. Do I want to avoid cavities because they hurt and cost so much to repair? Yes.
But the thing is, electric toothbrushes feel so expensive. It’s not just the device, but all the replacement heads, too.
Prime Day is ruining my excuse for holding out, though. Not only is the Philips Sonicare 4100 on sale for $30 (after checking the $10 coupon), but the multi-packs for replacement heads are pretty cheap, too. (This 5-pack from Reach is just $10, for example.)
I guess I should be an adult about this.
Stay cool with this $13 deal on a Honeywell fan
So, I’m told it’s hot elsewhere in the U.S. right now. (It is currently 64F in San Francisco and I’m wearing a sweatshirt.) Looks like this Honeywell circulator fan—a model that my friend from Texas swore by—is just a little over $13 at the moment. If you don’t have AC, get that air moving…I’m told it helps.
(You can wall mount this thing too, by the way.)

Wow – the best Ryzen CPU for midrange PCs is 41% off
I shared a monstrously good deal on AMD’s flagship Ryzen 9 9950X earlier, but most people don’t need that level of raw computing firepower. Fear not: The best Ryzen for midrange PCs is (somehow?!) on an even steeper sale. The 6-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 9600X is available for just $165 during Prime Day — a whopping 41% off its $279 suggested price. For even more context, the older Ryzen 7600X is $161, and AMD’s current lineup smashes its Intel rivals — making this discounted 9600X an absolute no-brainer if you’re building or upgrading a modern desktop.

Apple’s fantastic Beats Studio Pro get a 50% discount for Prime Day
When Apple debuted the Beats Studio Pro in late 2023, our buddies at Macworld declared that they’re “better than AirPods Max and a lot more affordable” en route to giving it a sterling 4.5-star review and an Editors’ Choice award. Better yet, it’s wildly more affordable today: Apple slashed a whopping 50% off Beats Studio Pro with Apple Care+ for Prime Day, plunging it from $379 all the way down to $179. The discount applies to all available colors, too!

This 10,000mAh MagSafe powerbank is slim, compact, and just $20
I prefer to travel light, and while a 10K mAh powerbank can feel hefty in a pocket, it’s a decent balance between having enough juice and being saddled with a bulky accessory. For iPhones, this $20 Ugreen MagSafe power bank fits the bill nicely—affordable and unobtrusive.
This is the best Thunderbolt dock deal of Prime Day
Digging up docking-station deals has meant putting on waders and really poking through the weeds this year. (Is it tariffs? Who knows.) But there’s one I’d recommend: Ugreen’s Revodok Max 208 8-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Dock, on sale for 36% off or $159.99 at Amazon. Ugreen really has developed an excellent reputation for USB-C and dock hardware, even if you may not have heard of the brand. I’ve reviewed several Revodok docks personally, and they’re usually very good to excellent.
There’s one small catch — this is more of a hub, rather than a dock, so the “display ports” are actually Thunderbolt, not dedicated HDMI or DisplayPort outputs. That’s not a huge deal; just drop a $13 uni USB-C to HDMI cable into your shopping cart as well.
You can grab a 20,000mAh powerbank for just $30 right now
Need juice while out and about this summer? Belkin, Mophie, and Anker all have 20K mAh models (good for keeping you going through a long day) for about $30 right now. I like the Belkin in particular for its alternative color options, so you can recognize which one is yours when out in a group.
Some nerdy background listening
Alaina and I needed to sit out of today’s Full Nerd podcast to bring you this deluge of deals, but an all-star had our back: Wendell from Level1Techs is joining Adam Patrick Murray and Will Smith to dig deep into the mini PC future, the problem(?) with Linux, and a whole lot more. They’re going live now, so play this in the background while you’re hunting down Prime Day deals. I won’t tell your boss, pinkie swear.
These gorgeous Fractal North PC cases are on steep discount right now
My apartment is a hodgepodge of furniture and elements, but I still appreciate the mid-century modern aesthetic of the Fractal North PC cases. B&H is selling both the mid-tower ATX ($115) and big boi ATX ($145) versions for close to their all-time low prices—even given the extra few bucks, these are well worth their look.

A GPU deal you shouldn’t ignore: Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT for $359
Oooooooh, another graphics card flirting with MSRP for the first time yet! Sapphire’s Pulse Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is on sale for $359, meaning it’s a mere $10 over AMD’s stated starting price. Since it’s the 16GB version you won’t have to worry about running out of memory like you do with the 8GB models. The Radeon RX 9060 XT is a killer 1080p gaming option that delivers similar performance to the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti, but for $70 less than the on-sale GeForce card we spotted earlier.

These mini PCs are the computers you need for a price you can afford
All right, tag me back in Alaina!
The only thing hotter than mini PCs right now are the jaw-droppingly low Prime Day prices we’re seeing on mini PCs. If you haven’t considered a mini PC, you should! These tiny computers tend to pack a much bigger punch than laptops, while costing less upfront. It’s a delightful combination if you’re okay tying yourself to a stationary monitor.
Deal master Gabriela Vatu rounded up the juiciest mini PC deals around, but a couple stand out as particularly screaming deals.

Acemagician Matrix M1 – AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, 16GB DDR5 RAM, 512GB SSD, triple display support – $278.10 (30% off, was $399)
Gabby says: “My favorite of the bunch is the Acemagician Matrix M1 for $278.10. That’s an impeccable price for a fantastic device. Running on a Ryzen 7, with 16GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD, this is a great daily driver. It even supports three 4K displays, thus allowing you to multitask to your heart’s desire. Even though it doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card, it does feature the Radeon 680M GPU, which is more than enough for some light gaming.”

Kamrui GK3 Plus – Intel Alder Lake N95, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, triple display support – $149.98 (29% off, was $210)
Gabby actually picked a baller GMTec system with a Core i7 chip and 32GB of RAM as her favorite Intel-powered mini PC deal, but I dig the Kamrui deal above. It’s much more modest performance-wise — especially the entry-level Intel processor — but should deliver plenty of oomph for everyday tasks like browsing the web, Office docs, and watching Netflix. That’s a lot of computer for just $150. Pair it with a cheap Prime Day office monitor deal and a cheap keyboard/mouse combo, and you’ll have a great little setup for roughly $250 bucks.
Heck yes, the Bose QuietComfort Headphones are back down to an all-time low price
Launched last fall, these Bose QuietComfort headphones dropped pretty fast on Black Friday to just $200—and now the price is back down to that ultra low price once again. The best part is that the deal applies to the models in colors other in black. (Weirdly, the black version is $20 more.) I love that twilight blue shade, but sandstone isn’t so bad either.
(My gen 2 QuietComfort headphones are getting a bit battered around the edges. This is very tempting.)
This Anker soundcore Boom 2 speaker is perfect for summer BBQs
Summer means outdoor parties, even in blazing heat—and music to go with the food and friends. If you need volume (and what good party doesn’t), this fan-favorite Bluetooth Anker soundcore Boom 2 portable speaker lasts all day, gets “super loud” (as my colleague Gabriela Vatu notes), and can even handle short, light dunking in water (IPX7-rated). Down to just $90 for Prime Day, this discount brings the Boom 2 back to its previous all-time low price.

I’m caving and buying this Dyson stick vacuum
We all know the Dyson memes. But several families I know own this Dyson V8 Plus HEPA cordless vacuum, and having helped watched their houses while they’re away, I grudgingly admit I like the simplicity of the design. It’s very easy to pick it up in what I call “dustbuster” mode (sorry, Black & Decker) and attack dust bunnies. Starting to vacuum is a victory unto itself—usually I shy away from the task. The machines are usually so loud, and bulky too.
At $300, the Dyson V8 Plus is close to its all-time low price from last Black Friday. Guess that’s my cue to get one of my own, finally.
I love this cheap mesh Wi-Fi system
I bought my cousins this $120 three-pack of TP-Link Deco X20 for much more a few years ago, and it’s been a perfect fit—simple app, seamless coverage, and it even has ethernet backhaul. (They had no opinion on the last one, but they definitely like the stability it brings compared to their old router setup.)
Sure, it’s “only” Wi-Fi 6, but their internet plan comes in lower than its output. By the time ISPs bring up the speeds on their lowest tier plans, it’ll be time to get a new router for my fam anyway.

Fresh eyes tag in
My soul desires to seek more deals, but my body demands sustenance. I’m grabbing some lunch and handing blogging duties off to Alaina for a bit. Take it away, Alaina!
AMD’s beastly Ryzen 9 9950X shatters its all-time low price
This one’s for my fellow Full Nerds. All 16 cores and 32 threads of AMD’s chart-topping Ryzen 9 9950X processor are on sale for $434 on Prime Day. That’s over $200 off MSRP and more than $70 cheaper than its previous all-time low. This Godzilla-esque chip beats Intel’s best CPUs in gaming, efficiency, and many multi-threaded workloads. If you’ve been looking to upgrade to a top-tier CPU and have tasks that can put all those cores to work, this is a steal.

Amazon Kindles will (probably) never be cheaper
Amazon usually discounts its own tech heavily during sales events, and Prime Day is no exception. You can score a new Amazon Kindle e-reader for just $85, matching the low price set during last Black Friday. Don’t expect it to get any cheaper than this, folks.
Prime Day is a rare chance to afford robotic lawn mowers and pool cleaners
I’m not much of a smart home guy myself, but I swear by my robovac. It’s a truly life-changing addition that removes so much headache and hassle from my life — just program it to run and never think about dirty floors again.
If you want to bring that sublime simplicity to the outdoors as well, be sure to check out our TechHive section’s curated roundups of great robotic pool cleaner and robotic lawn mower deals for Prime Day. These modern helpers usually cost a fistful of dollars, so Prime Day is the perfect time to scope one out. You can find several picks available for well under $1,000 this week!

85-inch Samsung OLED smart TV for under $1K? I’m sorely tempted
I’m a simple man. I love big, beautiful TVs that make it look like I’m watching NFL games from the sidelines. And boyyyyyyyyyy am I tempted to hop on Samsung’s 85-inch QLED 4K Q60D Series Quantum HDR Smart TV for $998 even though I already have a 65-inch LG C3 in my home. Scoring a TV this humongous and this feature-packed for an astounding 41% off is unheard-of. Sure, you can find big, bold TVs for even cheaper online or at Walmart, but they won’t match Samsung’s superb picture quality.
Someone talk me out of this. Please?
Ludicrous! This RTX gaming laptop is just $650
PCWorld laptop guru Ash Biancuzzo just spotted what might be the most affordable gaming laptop around right now. During Prime Day, Acer’s Nitro V notebook is on sale for just $650. With a Core i5 chip, Nvidia’s RTX 4050 graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD under the hood, this is definitely an entry-level model — but getting any gaming laptop for $650 is an absurdly good deal. This would be a fantastic machine for esports, Minecraft, and general 1080p medium gaming.
Nvidia’s DLSS technology will help propel performance in supported games, and if the SSD or RAM starts feeling tight in practice, you can always upgrade to more capacity down the line. Bless the customizability of the PC.
Fitbit? Pass. Oura Ring? Maybe. But I just bought Apple Watch Series 10 for $309
I’m an inveterate bio tracker. Or maybe degenerate is the better term? At any rate, I’m obsessed with tracking my sleep, and have been getting frustrated with my FitBit Versa 2–too often it sails to record all my slumber.
The Quantified Scientist on YouTube has done some compelling empirical studies on which wearable does the best sleep tracking, and he gives Apple Watch and Oura Ring the highest marks for accuracy. I’ve already got an Oura Ring on my finger, so now it’s time to give Apple Watch a spin. I just bought Apple Watch Series 10 for $309, a $10 discount from yesterday’s sale price and a big drop from its $429 MSRP. Amazon says it will arrive overnight–can’t wait to pair it with my iPhone 16 Pro.

Samsung’s OLED gaming monitor hits its lowest price yet
Props to friend of the show LiquidR for passing along this gem over on our Full Nerd Discord!
Samsung’s luscious Odyssey OLED G6 marries 1440p OLED goodness with a blistering-fast 240Hz refresh rate and AMD’s FreeSync Pro technology. If that jumble of letters and numbers mean nothing to you, it’s a no-compromises display that any gamer would love to have on their desk. (I know I would!) Making that a reality is a lot more attainable during Prime Day, when you can grab the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 for just $549. That matches its all-time low price — and it’s a tough deal for rival OLEDs to beat. Competition FTW!
I love my Shokz open-ear headphones, and they’re $55 off for Prime Day
Open-ear headphones are the only ones I use around the house, walking in the city or the grocery store, or even on an all-day kayaking session. And if you ask me, the Shokz OpenRun 2 are the best set around. These Shokz open-ear headphones are expensive, but absolutely worth it for anyone who works out or listens to music while out and about, and today they’re $55 off. There’s also a cheaper option if you’re new to bone conduction audio and want to try something more affordable first.

My favorite portable LED is 15% off on Prime Day
I discovered the Letour LED Tube almost by accident a few years ago when I was looking for a replacement for my DeWalt lantern. Now I have four of these cheaper Letour LEDs. They’re perfect for power blackouts, working under the hood of my car, and lighting up dark closets. They power up with a simple USB connection, and seem to hold power almost indefinitely–I legit recharge them only about twice a year! Now they’re 15% off (that’s $24 a pop) on Prime Day.

Apple AirPods 4 hit their lowest price by far
Speaking of Apple, the company’s vaunted AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation are just $119 on Prime Day — a spectacular deal on world-class earbuds. These newest AirPods usually cost $179, and have only dipped below $150 during the holiday shopping season. Here’s what our buds at Macworld had to say in their 4.5-star review:
“The AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancelation at $179 are mid-range earbuds with many pro features. They sound great, the Active Noise Cancelation is extremely useful, they fit better than previous AirPods, and the wireless charging and Find My speaker on the case are much-welcomed conveniences.”

Apple AirTags for just $17 each
Shout-out to Macworld’s Prime Day live blog for spotting this top-notch deal!
“Apple’s AirTags are probably its most underrated product and have saved me from losing my keys more times than I want to remember. Normally $99 for a 4-pack, which is a great price already, you can get them during Prime Day for $68, just $17 per AirTag. You’ll need a keyring holder to attach them to your keys, but they’re cheap too.”

One of our favorite portable SSDs is cheaper than ever
If you prefer your storage a bit more portable, the SK Hynix Beetle earned a stellar 4.5 stars and an Editors’ Choice award in our review thanks to its scintillating blend of raw speed, easy portability, and a head-turning golden design. During Prime Day, you can score the 1TB version for $63, matching its lowest price ever.
You can’t go wrong picking up one of the best portable SSDs around for the cheapest it’s ever been, full stop.
Blowout sales on Samsung’s speed-demon 9100 Pro SSD
With the new Samsung Pro 9100, the high-speed SSD king is back, baby — and you can get a nice deal on this world-class drive during Prime Day. The 1TB model has a solid 25% off, bringing it down to $150, but smart money is on the 2TB version. A gigantic 37% discount plunged the 2TB Samsung 9100 Pro all the way down to $189. Spending the extra $30 for a full extra terabyte of some of the fastest storage in the land is a no-brainer.
You can grab the 4TB version for $385 — a sizeable 30% discount, but still more expensive than buying a pair of the 2TB sticks.

Amazon Fire TV Stick HD for $18
If you’re looking to add streaming smarts to a 1080p television, you can’t go wrong with the Amazon Fire TV Stick HD for $18. That’s half off the usual price. This entry-level model lacks the bells and whistles of higher-end Fire TV Sticks, but if you don’t want 4K or Dolby Atmos support, this little guy can save you some serious cash.
Staples’ beloved Hyken chair is 60% off
Some of the best Prime Day deals aren’t found on Amazon. Case in point: Staples is selling its wildly popular Hyken office chair for just $120, a humongous 60% discount. Beloved by Redditors and PCWorld staff members alike, you won’t find a better deal with a Prime subscription. If you need a desk to go with it, check out Alaina’s roundup of the best Prime Day office chair and standing desk deals.
The perfect time to break up: Ditch Windows 10 on Prime Day
Now for something completely different. With Windows 10’s end of life looming, should you replace your PC on Prime Day? My colleague Mark Hachman delved into the details if you’re struggling to come up with an answer.
Microsoft’s new Surface and Surface Dock get huge discounts
🚨This is not a drill 🚨 Microsoft’s new Snapdragon-powered Surface Pro — our favorite ultraportable laptop — is on sale for just $699 during Prime Day, as laptop guru Ash just spotted. And Prime Day is an especially great time to pick it up because Microsoft’s Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock is also on a steep sale, with a 33% discount knocking it all the way down to $199. Add it all up and that’s a lot of great hardware for well under $1,000.
Be sure to buy the optional $150 Surface Keyboard if you want to use it as a laptop though — the Surface Pro is technically a tablet, just a very powerful one running full-fledged Windows 11.
It sounds gross but it’s not
PCWorld laptop guru Ashley Biancuzzo uses a weirdly delightful blob of yellow goo to clean her keyboard, and she swears by it. During Prime Day you can score a two-pack of said weirdly delightful goo for just $9.49. That’s 41% off the usual $16 price — and apparently it’s effective for cleaning out your car vents, too.
Time to stock up on Anker’s USB-C cables
Prime Day is a great time to stock up on necessities like cables, because everybody could always use more cables and you might as well get them cheap. Well I’ve found one heck of a deal: Anker’s beloved USB-C cables are just $7.99 for a pair of 3 ft cords, while a pair of 6 ft cables is just $8.99. That’s mighty compelling, especially when you consider Anker’s USB-C cables have a 4.7-star average rating over 20,000 (!!!) reviews. I have a pair and they’re great!
Is this the best Prime Day laptop deal?
I’ve read all of PCWorld’s Prime Day deal roundups, and one sale truly leaped off the page at me: The budget pick in Mark’s Prime Day Chromebook deals roundup. He found a Lenovo IdeaPad 3i with 8GB of RAM, 64GB of RAM, and a 1080p screen going for an utterly ludicrous $193. You sometimes don’t find all those specs in a $400 Chromebook!
So sayeth Mark: “The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is the best early no-compromise Chromebook deal I’ve been able to find, period. It has everything you need at an outstanding price.”
50% off Samsung’s stunning 49-inch OLED
I drool with envy every time I lay eyes on Samsung’s luscious 49-inch ultrawide OLED monitor. The incredible 5120×1440 resolution is like cramming two standard 1440p monitors together, while the 240Hz refresh rate can keep up with even the fastest-pace games. And did I mention it’s OLED?
During Prime Day, affording this dream display is much more realistic — because Samsung knocked a whopping 50 percent off the retail price. Oh. My. My colleague Gabriela Vatu has more details in her standalone coverage, or you can hop right over to Amazon and check it out for yourself.
A graphics card that isn’t a ripoff? The 16GB RTX 5060 TI is just $429
I’m PCWorld’s resident graphics card and gaming guy, so let’s start there. GPU prices have been insane this entire decade, but downright wild this generation. Even entry level cards are selling for wild markups. Enter the Asus Dual GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB for $429 at Amazon. The $50 discount means this GPU is selling for just $10 over MSRP, and at MSRP, the RTX 5060 Ti is a great 1080p and solid 1440p gaming option. Better yet, since this is the 16GB model, you won’t have to worry about running out of graphics memory in intense games.
Grab this one before it sells out, y’all. MSRP graphics cards are a rare breed these days.
