Alongside this month’s big Pixel phone update, Google is also rolling out a fresh update to the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4. The update introduces several changes, like a bundle of new gestures, Gemini personalization, and more.
The new September Pixel Watch update is rolling out as builds CP3A.260905.002 (Watch 3 and 4) and CP3A.260905.002.E1 (Watch 2). The full rollout could take several weeks, according to Google.
As for what’s new, we have the below changelog:
- One Hand Gestures App Expansions (PW3 and newer)
- Double pinch to open At a Glance from watch face
- Double pinch to open notification center from watch face
- Double pinch to scroll through Gemini response
- Double pinch to scroll through cards in Wallet app
- Double pinch to scroll through your workout metrics
- Double pinch to toggle between Google Maps views
- Double pinch to manage Recorder app
- Wrist turn gesture as universal back navigation
- Gemini Personalization (all models)
- Personalization makes Gemini on Watch more helpful by learning from past conversations and connected Google apps (Gmail, Calendar, Search, YouTube, Photos) to deliver personalized responses. Users can ask queries like “What’s on my calendar today?” or “Find the tracking number in my email” and receive answers tailored to their data. The feature is powered by an offline user profile and real-time online retrieval working together.
- Raise to talk improvements (PW4 and newer)
- Updates and improvements for raise to talk.
- General bug fixes and improvements
The Pixel Watch 5 received its September update a couple of weeks ago and it was a big one.
To update your Pixel Watch, open Settings on the watch, then scroll to System>System updates. If an update doesn’t present itself right away, you can try this old tapping trick to trigger it.
