Stranger Things is legitimately over, whether fans like it or not. But that doesn’t mean that Netflix subscribers won’t get more stories in this universe. We know that Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 will fill in some story gaps and introduce new monsters in April. And now we will finally get a piece of Stranger Things lore that we actually all needed months ago. According to Collider, the canon Broadway play Stranger Things: The First Shadow just got a special filming that will come to Netflix.

There isn’t a release date for it yet; however, there are no new Broadway shows of Stranger Things: The First Shadow from February 10-15 so the cast can film the Netflix special. As we all know by now, the film centers around Henry Creel as a teenager alongside Hopper, Joyce, and other familiar faces. Oddly enough, the play was a big part of Henry’s story in Stranger Things 5, and should have been more widely available for viewing at that time.
But it is never too late for a good thing to happen, so fans will want to tune in whenever this play arrives on the streaming service. It would be perfect to watch before rewatching the show’s final season, right? Even if there are no more new episodes of Stranger Things, there’s still comfort in knowing that more is on the way in a different form.
