“By all means, move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me!” The Devil Wears Prada 2 seems to be saying to itself, as 20 years after the release of the original movie, a sequel has finally found its way onto our screens. It’s a great example of never say never on getting more of your favorite film. And now, we have our first official look at the movie. The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway as Miranda and Andy, and immediately brings back all the fashion, sneers, and snark we loved in the original. The teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 tells us literally nothing about the movie. But it does set the vibes. And the vibes are drama, glamor, snark. And do we really need anything else? An official release shares just a touch more, noting, “Almost twenty years after making their iconic turns as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel—Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation.” Well, we’re glad all our favs will be back in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Additionally, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as “Lily” and “Irv” from the first film. The Devil Wears Prada‘s original director, David Frankel, and writer, Aline Brosh McKenna will also return to helm the sequel.
Joining the old guard in The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be some new faces, though, and this “runway of characters” includes Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. We don’t see any of these new characters in The Devil Wears Prada 2‘s teaser trailer, but we’re excited to witness them in action soon.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 releases in theaters on May 1, 2026. Until then, you can stream the original movie on Hulu.
