This USB-C dock with dual 4K monitor support is 72% off for Prime Day  | amznusa.com

Laptops are getting ever thinner and lighter, and seemingly losing a lot of input and output ports on their crash diets. So if you have a slimmed-down notebook and still want to get comfy with a bunch of extra accessories and hardware, a USB-C dock is a must.

This Kensington USB-C dock comes with tons of ports and support for double 4K monitors, and it’s shockingly cheap at $49.62 for Prime Day on Amazon right now. That’s less than a third of its $180 retail price.

The Kensington SD2480T USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 dock truly has a ton of ports, so I’m just going to list them out sequentially for you:

2 x DisplayPort 1.4 ports (single 8K@30Hz or dual 4K@60Hz)

1 x USB-C port (10Gbps)

2 x USB-A ports (10Gbps)

1 x USB-A port (5Gbps)

1 x USB-C host port with 60W charging

1 x SD and microSD card slots (UHS-1 speed)

1 x Gigabit Ethernet port

1 x headphone/microphone jack

Note that while most docks offer a mix of HDMI and DisplayPort, this is double DisplayPort only. If you want to take full advantage of it and your monitor doesn’t have a 4K DisplayPort port, grab this HDMI adapter (which supports 4K resolution at 60Hz).

This Kensington dock has enough flexibility and bandwidth to max out most laptops’ single-port power and charge them up at a decent 60-watt pace. The biggest and most powerful gaming laptops might be able to run 4K displays at even faster rates, but for less than $50, you really can’t do better for a small and capable Thunderbolt dock.

Though this deal is on during Amazon Prime Day, it doesn’t look like you need to be a Prime subscriber to get this $49.62 price. You might want to move quickly, though — USB-C docks are in high demand, and one so heavily discounted might go out of stock soon.
