Layer 2s have made quite a buzz over the last few months because of their high network activity. Arbitrum led the Layer 2 pack with a total value locked (TVL) of $2.385 billion. Arbitrum is an Optimistic Rollup solution that shifts network operations away from the Ethereum mainnet while maintaining Ethereum-level security.

Arbitrum’s BOLD testnet also went live; when integrated into the mainnet, the update will enable permissionless validation on Arbitrum. This means that anyone can challenge the state of the Arbitrum network. Currently, validators are allow-listed.

Is Arbitrum a good investment? Will it go up? Where will it be in 5 years? Let’s answer these questions and more in our Arbitrum price prediction.

Arbitrum price analysis

According to a research by Binance Research, the Ethereum (ETH) issuance rate continued to rise, raising concerns about its “ultrasound money” claim.

The October report highlighted that the ETH issuance rate continued its ascent in September, moving away from its previously deflationary status.

The second largest digital asset by reported market cap had a 30-day annualized inflation rate of approximately 0.74%, a level not observed in the last two years. The sharp uptick in ETH supply inflation has questioned its “ultrasound money” positioning.

Ethereum’s high issuance could be attributed to several factors, including low mainnet on-chain activity, leading to a low transaction fee and, consequently, lower ETH burn rates.

Arbitrum’s price has consistently dropped from earlier highs in March; on the contrary, the blockchain’s total value locked (TVL) has been rising, i.e., by over 50% since January.

According to data from Coinglass, Arbitrum’s Open Interest has dropped consistently with its price. This signals a bearish market sentiment as traders pull out their investments, decreasing market activity and asset value.

Arbitrum has maintained a constant bear run since March. So far, it has lost over half its value from the year’s high. It made another bearish break out earlier last month as it fell below the $0.6 support. Earlier last week, it reversed the trend as it broke above the moving average, reaching as high as $0.67, but later corrected to $0.56 mark.

Arbitrum trades within a parallel channel with bearish momentum in play. The downtrend is strengthening as ARB falls closer to the channel’s lower boundary, with the MACD trend lines forming a bearish crossover.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) was 48.02, indicating sellers had the upper hand, pushing the price closer to oversold territory.

For ARB to invalidate the bearish thesis, it must reclaim the $0.60 level.

The uptick in inflation could support the bearish scenario.

What to expect from Arbitrum price analysis next?

ARB is falling lower at current levels despite the fear and greed index showing neutrality. For ARB to invalidate the bearish thesis, it must reclaim the $0.60 level. The uptick in inflation could support the bearish scenario.

Is Arbitrum a good investment?

Arbitrum is a leading Layer 2 blockchain with an impressive TVL. The network also achieves development milestones, like quadrupling transactions after integrating EIP-4844, which cuts transaction costs by 90%. Despite a gloomy month, price predictions suggest a different narrative.

Why is Arbitrum down?

Arbitrum’s current drop is partly consistent with the network rise in inflation. This year’s drop in coin prices is consistent with the drop in crypto market valuation.

Will Arbitrum recover?

Arbitrum is trading at annual lows; despite this, network participation has remained consistently high, and as a result, Daily active addresses (DAA) have remained relatively high. This suggests ARB will eventually recover. These indicators point to an eventual recovery.

Will Arbitrum reach $1?

According to Cryptopolitan price predictions, ARB will trade at $1 in 2026.

Will Arbitrum reach $10?
