Google did that Friday afternoon thing they love to do again, where they release new updates for Pixel phones. Fun!
Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 is now available for your Pixel phone, just not yet for your new Pixel 11 series device. We were sort of hoping to be able to play with the new goodies from Beta 3 onward on the new-new, but that’s not what we got. Google did say that they will release this for the Pixel 11 series “soon.”
The update is live and rolling out to the Pixel 6a up through the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel 10a. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will not receive this update, as it’ll arrive after they have reached end of life. You can read more about that here.

- An audio service resource lock triggered during screen recording that prevented microphone usage across apps and input methods like Gboard and Gemini until a device restart. (Issue #538229807)
- A System UI visual inconsistency where turning off the screen from the home screen triggered a plain fade instead of the power-button screen-off animation. (Issue #541261786)
- A low-contrast rendering issue in dark mode where the connected Wi-Fi settings cog icon was barely visible. (Issue #536320341)
- Enabling 3D mode on connected smart glasses resulted in a blank screen. (Issue #536628506)
