Summer is, mercifully, just around the corner. That means we’ll soon be sitting in the backyard with a burger in one hand and a beer in the other. But this year you won’t even need to attend a barbecue to enjoy the flavors of the season. Pringles and Miller Lite have partnered on two new limited-edition potato chips that truly celebrate summer, Beer Can Chicken and Grilled Beer Brat.

Get out those flip flops and your appetites even if you plan on sitting in your house instead of going to a pool party, because summer is coming to you in a tall thin can of potato chips. Pringles and Miller Lite have teamed-up on a first-of-its-kind innovation for the iconic chips. This May they’re bringing beer-infused Pringle flavors to store shelves. Here’s how the companies describe each potato chip:
- Pringles x Miller Lite Beer Can Chicken deliciously combines the flavor of savory roasted chicken complete with notes of garlic and onion with the authentic flavor of the Original Light Beer.
- Pringles x Miller Lite Grilled Beer Brat has that smokey grilled brat flavor you know and love, with notes of black pepper, caramelized onion and brown spice. The authentic flavor of the Original Light Beer comes through in a hoppy, malt beer aroma.
“At Pringles, we’re dedicated to bringing new, unexpected flavors that both surprise and satisfy our fans’ cravings to the market, no matter the occasion,” said Mauricio Jenkins, US Head of Marketing for Pringles, in a press release. “That’s why we came together with the brewing geniuses at Miller Lite to bring our two iconic brands together. These crisps marry the best flavors of summer into one delicious bite that we can’t wait for fans to experience. We hope the new flavors kick off grilling season on a deliciously crispy note.”

So, how do they actually taste? We can tell you. Pringles and Miller Lite sent us both the Beer Pringles to try. They offer very different culinary experiences. The Beer Can Chicken Pringles is not especially beer-y. It smells and tastes like a very nice grilled chicken, flavorful but not overpowering. Where Miller Lite really makes its potato chip presence felt is in the Grilled Beer Brat Pringle. It smells like beer, and it tastes like beer. It’s a big, intense flavor that people are either going to either love or not. Either way, don’t get pulled over if you eat a whole can.
If you want to find out for yourself how both beer Pringles flavors taste, you’ll get the chance soon. They arrive nationwide in May “while supplies last.” After that, you’re on your own for actually grilling food this summer.
